Regina Cassandra was born on 13th December 1990, in “Mayiladuthurai” town of “Nagapattinam” district in Tamil Nadu state, India. Regina comes from a family of medical professionals. Her mom hails from Karnataka and her dad comes from Northern part of India. Her grandmother is an Anglo-Indian from Goa and her grandfather is an Iyyengar who converted to Christianity. The Tamil girl felt blessed belonging to such diverse ethnicity.

She started her career as a child artist and is now a well-established actress in the Tamil and Telugu language Cinema. Till 2016 she usually charge 65 lakhs as her remuneration for a film but has since increased her remuneration close to 1.5 crore per film.

As far as her hobbies goes she loves travelling, learning classical Indian dance and reading romance novels especially written by online amateur writers. A few years back she turned vegetarian after reading a PETA article on animal cruelty. Earlier chicken and roast beef made by her mother used to be her favourite dishes but now she follows a strict vegetarian diet which her mother thinks as a mature decision on her part.

In 1999, at age 9, Regina started anchoring for “Splash”, a kids’ channel and then did many modelling and commercials ads, as a child artist.

In 2005, at age 14, when she was in 9th standard, Regina made her Tamil debut with the role of “Latha”, in the 2005 Indian Tamil romantic comedy film “Kanda Naal Mudhal”. She played the 21 year-old younger sister of lead actress “Laila” and had to take 14 days off from her school to act in the movie.

In 2006, at age 15, appeared in a low-key Tamil film “Azhagiya Asura”, which despite its positive critic’s reviews failed at the box office.

In 2008, at age 17, she played the small role of “Seetha” in the 2008 Tamil-language fantasy comedy film “Panchamirtham”, starring actor “Jayaram” and “Prakash Raj”.

She then took break from films on her mother’s advice and went on to graduate in psychology from “Women’s Christian College, Chennai”. She took another year off from the big screen and had done many short films and modelling assignments in the meantime. Balaji Mohan’s “Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi” was one of her notable short films which was later made into a feature film in 2012 under the same name featuring actor “Siddharth”.

In 2010, Regina made her Kannada film Debut from the action thriller film “Suryakaanti” by director “K. M.Chaitanya”, opposite actor “Chetan kumar”.

In 2012, Regina made her Telugu Debut playing the role of “Shruti” in the romantic comedy film “SMS (Siva Manasula Sakthi)”, opposite actor “Sudheer Babu”, who also made his debut as a lead hero through this film.
In 2012, she did another Telugu film titled “Routine Love Story”, playing the role of “Tanvi” opposite actor “Sundeep Kishan”.

In 2013, she did two Tamil films, the first one is a comedy drama titled “Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga”, where she played the role of “Paappaa” opposite actor “Sivakarthikeyan” and the second one is a drama film titled “Nirnayam”, where she played the role of “Jeni” opposite actor “Vikram Anand”.

In 2014, she played the female lead in four Telugu films. The first to release was “Kotha Janta”, where she played the role of “Suvarna” opposite actor “Allu Sirish”. Then came the romantic comedy film “Ra Ra… Krishnayya”, where she played the role of “Nandeshwari” opposite actor “Sundeep Kishan”. The film was a freemake of 2012 hit Bollywood movie “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya” starring “Riteish Deshmukh” opposite his wife “Genelia D’Souza”.

Her third release of the year was the Telugu action comedy film “Power”, where she played the role of “Vaishnavi” opposite superstar “Ravi Teja”. Her last release of 2014 was theTelugu romantic-action-comedy film “Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham”, where she played the role of “Shailaja” opposite debutant male lead “Sai Dharam Tej”.

In 2015, she did one Tamil and two Telugu films. The first to release was the Tamil heist film “Rajathandhiram”, where she played the role of “Michelle D’Mello”. Then came the Telugu romantic-comedy-action film “Subramanyam for Sale”, where she played the role of “Seetha” opposite actor “Sai Dharam Tej”. Her last release of 2015 was another Telugu romantic-comedy-action film “Soukhyam”, where she played the role of “Sailaja” opposite actor “Gopichand”.

In 2016, she took three Telugu film projects. The first to release was the Telugu romantic thriller film “Shourya”, where she played the role of “Netra” opposite actor “Manchu Manoj”. Then came the Telugu romantic comedy film “Jyo Achyutananda”, where she played the role of “Jyotsna Kumari/Jyo”, the mutual love interest of actor “Nara Rohit” and “Naga Shaurya”. Her last release of 2016 was the Telugu drama film “Shankara” opposite actor “Nara Rohit”.

In 2017, she did three Tamil and two Telugu films. The first to release was the Tamil action thriller film “Maanagaram” opposite actor “Sri” and “Sundeep Kishan”. Her next release was Tamil supernatural comedy film “Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen”, where she played the role of “Thenmozhi” opposite actor “Udhayanidhi Stalin”. Her last Tamil release of the year was the romantic comedy film “Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum”, where she played the role of “Lavanya”, one of the ex-girlfriend of actor “Atharvaa”.

The first of her 2017 Telugu release was the action-drama film titled “Nakshatram” alongside actor “Sundeep Kishan”, “Sai Dharam Tej” and “Prakash Raj”. Her last release of the year was the Telugu romantic-action film “Balakrishnudu” opposite actor “Nara Rohit”.

In 2018, she did one Telugu and two Tamil films. The first to release was the Telugu psychological thriller film “Awe”. The film boasts a huge ensemble cast featuring “Kajal Aggarwal”, “Nithya Menen”, “Eesha Rebba”, “Srinivas Avasarala”, “Murali Sharma”, “Priyadarshi Pullikonda”, “Rohini”, “Devadarshini” and “Ravi Teja”. Regina played the role of a waitress and drug addict “Mira”, in the film.

Then came the Tamil thriller film “Mr. Chandramouli”, where she played the role of “Madhu”, girlfriend of actor “Gautham Karthik”. Her last release of the year was the Tamil action comedy film “Silukkuvarupatti Singam”, where she played the role of “Rajeshwari (Raji) opposite actor “Vishnu Vishal”.

In 2019, Regina made her Bollywood debut with the romantic comedy-drama film “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga”. She played the role of “Kuhu”, the lesbian love interest of Bollywood actress “Sonam Kapoor”.

Regina has four upcoming Tamil films to be released in 2019, the gothic horror film “Nenjam Marappathillai”, the casino-based comedy film “Party”, the action-thriller-drama film “Kallapart” and the thriller film titled “7”.
